At Expur, the principles of the circular economy are integrated into every stage of our operations, with the aim of reducing our carbon footprint, promoting efficiency, and creating lasting impact.
This approach enables us to build an organizational culture where sustainability is not an obligation, but a conscious choice—part of our DNA. From the supply chain, throughout the entire production process, and all the way to our customers and consumers, we are guided by clear principles of responsibility, transparency, and respect for nature and the community.
We believe our success is directly linked to the positive impact we have on the environment and society. We invest in innovative green technologies and promote the circular economy through recycling, reuse, and waste reduction, continuously minimizing our environmental impact.
SERVING THE EARTH
Our purpose, “Serving the Earth”, reflects our deep commitment to protecting the planet and building a cleaner future for generations to come. This is evident in all our initiatives, both internal and external, and defines how we relate to employees, partners, and society.
Serving the Earth translates into 6 fundamental commitments that guide all our decisions:

#1
We promote sustainable farming practices among farmers and support their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from raw materials.
#2
We manage resources responsibly.

#3
We produce edible oil from sunflower and rapeseed seeds purchased from local farmers.
We evaluate, select, and prioritize local suppliers based on corporate social responsibility (CSR) criteria, focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout the supply chain.
#4
We transform sunflower husks into steam and electricity at the Expur CoGeneration plant, providing 100% of the steam needed for production and covering a large part of the electricity used in our Slobozia factory.

#5
We work continuously to reduce our carbon footprint in line with SBTi-approved targets.
We promote the circular economy.
We produce biofuels with reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
#6
We promote equal opportunities for women and men within our company.
We support people with disabilities who work in our company.
We actively prevent any form of discrimination in our company.
We engage in activities that support the local community

Serving the Earth, together—every team, employee, and action matters.
Each department and colleague has taken on a specific objective that reflects their personal commitment to the circular economy, whether it’s reducing resource consumption, optimizing processes, promoting recycling, or engaging in community projects.
This personalized approach transforms our purpose into a collective effort, where the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility are shared by each of us and become an integral part of our daily work. Thus, “Serving the Earth” is not just a strategic direction, but a living culture, supported by every member of the organization.

EcoVadis Gold Certification

In 2025, Expur achieved EcoVadis Gold certification, with a score of 82/100, placing us in the top 5% of companies evaluated globally and in the top 1% of the oilseed processing industry.
This certification comes just one year after attaining Silver level in 2024 and confirms our accelerated progress and strong commitment to continuous improvement.
This international recognition validates our efforts to integrate the circular economy into every aspect of our activity, from business strategy and industrial practices to organizational culture.
A cleaner future through education and action

We believe change begins with education:
- We organize workshops in primary schools in Slobozia, where children learn about recycling, the circular economy, and environmental protection.
- We welcome pupils and students for visits to Expur factory, where they can see firsthand how sustainable industrial practices are applied.
Children have become true recycling ambassadors in their families, teaching their parents proper methods for collecting used oil and other eco-friendly practices.
We are actively involved in protecting nature and:
- We collaborate with our partner, the French Chamber of Commerce, in the annual “
CCIFER Forest Planting
” events, through which we restore degraded areas. - Through our brand
Untdelemn de la Bunica
, we actively contribute to reducing plastic usage, as it is the only edible oil brand that uses bottles made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials.
